New Projects, New Toys

New Projects, New Toys

The blog has been quiet for a week or so, and for good reason. I’m currently conceptualizing a large-scale photography project. It will involve the community, creating inspiring pictures, and best of all, it’ll cost you, the ones getting your photo taken, absolutely nothing. More to come on that once I have it all polished off. Keep checking back for more info on this as well as a signup form to get in line to participate in this free project.

I got a new toy a couple weeks ago when Apple updated their line of Macbook Pros. Up until now I have only had my 24″ iMac at home to editing my photos. It’s great and all, and it is definitely the preferred machine for my creative work, with that beautiful 24″ screen, however, I can’t take it with me. Enter the MacBook Pro. Having the ability to view, edit, and export my photographs before I’ve even left the shoot location is awesome, all with the style, speed, and power the Apple system and software allows. This thing is literally a full-powered mobile editing studio (I opted for the beefy model). I love the fact that when I’m struck by a creative bolt of lightning I can just open this thing up where ever I’m at and have every single tool I use at home on my iMac right in my lap (this thing doesn’t leave my side). Hopefully the new computer edition will allow me to get a little more consistent on my blog as well (crossing fingers).

On-Location – Showcase Video

It’s here! I can’t thank my good friend, Andy Lahmann of P51 Pictures, enough for capturing the fun, energy, and time that goes into my shoots as well as he did, and cutting it together so well. I know I can’t stop watching this video, and I’m sure you’ll enjoy it as well. Andy shadowed myself, the models, and the crew as we worked two locations back in April. A looong day, starting with a 4:30am wakeup and wrapping the second shoot of the day at 6pm.

We had a lot of fun that day, got some great pictures, and I think this video really shows that.

Dark Places on a Sunny Day

Ventured to Bellingham last weekend, mainly to shoot Myrriah. She’s working heavily on her modeling portfolio and luckily she likes my work, so over the past few months we have been working together to give her port a wide variety of styles.

In Her Element

Meet Nancy, an amazing artist local to Bellingham, WA. She specializes in abstract painting. Nancy needed some nice pictures of herself to use when advertising her business and for ‘about me’ blurbs. When I arrived at her studio, she already had an awesome background setup with canvases and backdrops already hung. She was insistent on posing in the exact same way for the pictures as she does when painting, and I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. She sported sneakers that were covered in a rainbow of paint, ones she uses while working, it was a great touch.

In Her Element In Her Element

We took a variety of shots of Nancy on the rustic old wood floor and on her painting latter. We both had a few laughs during the shoot, and Nancy got some great shots of herself in her element to use for her business. Nancy is currently having her site rebuild, but you should check out the new one when it launches in July and view her amazing work! www.InnerLandscapes.us
